KBE+, Inc. Develops Custom Training for GE Renewable

KBE+ , Inc. worked closely with GE Wind Energy (https://www.ge.com/renewableenergy/home) was formed out of the assets of Enron Wind acquired in 2002, and subsequently expanded with the acquisition of ScanWind in 2009.  GE Wind expanded into offshore wind energy with the purchase of Alstom’s energy generation assets in 2015.  Within this newly formed organization they recognized an underserved need to maintain and repair wind turbines; theirs as well as those from other manufacturers.  GE’s expertise and well-earned reputation in all aspects of their business is well regarded.  That is why when GE Renewable Energy approached KBE+ to develop custom course materials specific to gear, bearing, shaft and seal inspection, to be delivered worldwide, we were honored.  Our initial three-day course offering was part of larger 6-day event where technicians from all over the world were brought to their facility in Schenectady, New York for a series of courses and workshops.

The intent, if this initial offering went well, was to mature the material and integrate the workshop into a core course for all wind turbine technicians.  The recurring offerings will be offered through their facility in Texas in one of their main repair depots.  The facility is being retooled to maintain its current role as a repair facility, as well as provide workspace and hands-on training facilities for up to 5 MW turbines.  These facilities will have current production wind turbines from most of the major manufacturers and KBE+ will be responsible for developing, maintaining and teaching all the classroom materials.  As well as be an integral part of the hands-on workshop sessions.  Our role is slated to continue to expand as more technicians come on-board and GE extends their services to more turbine manufacturers.

KBE+ was chosen for this project due in large part to our reputation for developing and presenting high quality, timely and succinct course materials, by knowledgeable industry experts.  We have developed and delivered courses and hands-on workshops for over 25 years.  Our attendee lead evaluations have been stellar, and their management continually comment about improved quality of work their people come back to the job with.  Please visit our site (www.kbeplus.com) for more about our current course offerings and our ability to create curriculum specific to your needs, as well as information about how we can help you move forward.
