A Gear Design Success Story
Autotech challenged KBE+ to develop an entirely new approach to passive traction aided differential design featuring a unique gear form and a means to eliminate the ‘zero-torque’ problem inherent in all mechanical differentials. We developed a novel concept and then thoroughly analyzed its potential performance and compared the results to the operational characteristics of the technology available in the marketplace. The final design, the theory of its operation and its actual performance were innovative enough to warrant patent protection. KBE+ continues to work with Autotech Sport Tuning to develop new designs for various vehicles, refine the base concept to provide more tune-ability as product expectations evolve and to develop manufacturing facilities for Autotech world-wide.
