This course outlines automotive powertrain layout, configuration, major components and operational theory and function from the air inlet of the internal combustion engine to the contact patch of the drive tires. It is a high-level overview of all the major component including their function and integration into the powertrain driveline. It is intended as an introduction to automotive powertrain technology and driveline operation.
